FAQs

How much is shipping?
Shipping is calculated by the zip code you live in and will show up once you enter that information at checkout.

How do you package your products?
The Butchery products are vacuum-sealed, frozen and then hand-packed into a cooler box with eco friendly, compostable insulation.

What shipping method do you use?
We ship all of our packages overnight. We also provide you with a tracking number so you can check on the status of your package throughout the day.

What days do you ship?
Our facility is open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm (PST), but we only ship packages Monday-Wednesday.

I won’t be home around the time I expect the package to be delivered. Does this mean I won’t receive my order?
No, we don’t require recipients to sign for their packages to ensure delivery services never “hold” a perishable food order you placed. If you or the desired recipient is not home, the driver will simply leave the package at the residence. Keep in mind you are responsible for making sure the recipient of the package (whether it be yourself or another responsible party) is present to open the package upon receipt and to promptly store the items in the refrigerator or freezer. While our packages are meant to sustain UP TO 48 hours of unrefrigerated shipping, we strongly recommend you open and refrigerate the contents of your package as soon as possible, especially in warmer climates/during the warmer months.

I just opened my package and the meat looks off-color. Does this mean my items have spoiled?
As long as your items are cool to the touch, the contents of your package are not spoiled. This color change is typical with vacuum-sealed meats because a lack of oxygen will cause the meat to lose or change color.

When you open the vacuum-seal packaging and expose the meat to oxygen once again, the meat will regain some of its natural color within 10-15 minutes (a process called blooming).

May I freeze the meat once I receive it?
YES! For the best quality, you should use your products within 5-7 days if refrigerating, and 3-4 months if freezing in original packaging.

While you can keep the products for longer than this in both the freezer and the refrigerator, adhering to these dates will ensure you get the best quality meat!

My meat arrived and it feels warm to the touch. What should I do?
Call (949) 548-6328 or email us at management@thebutcherymeats.com to let us know. We will do everything we can to remedy the problem as long as the 48 hours refrigeration deadline has not passed. If your order is warm because you did not open it in time, we cannot replace or refund your order, so it is best you contact us as quickly as possible.
